Helping The Boulevard

The Boulevard is located at 3456 West Franklin Blvd in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood. Founded in 1994, the agency was originally known as Interfaith House. Its mission is to provide a healing environment and resources to help ill and injured homeless adults restore their health, rebuild their lives and regain self-sufficiency.

The Boulevard’s clients are homeless adults, men and women, being discharged from area hospitals with no place to go to complete their medical recovery. The agency’s core Assessment Respite program, operating with an onsite clinic, helps residents stabilize their health, begin to address the root causes of their homelessness, and works to find housing for each of them. The Boulevard does not discharge to the street.

With a capacity of only 64 beds, the agency is rarely not at capacity. Nearly 400 individuals are served annually; and 9,000 people have been helped since The Boulevard opened its doors.

The Boulevard is a 501(c)(3) organization. This means donations to The Boulevard are deductible, up to the IRS allowances.
